Ronny’s (w/ the Venom Lords)

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

We will be playing at Ronny’s Bar/Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, January 18. This show marks our sweet, sweet reunion with the Venom Lords.

Ronny’s is located at 2101 N California Ave. According to the always-reliable MP Shows web page, the show starts and 9:00 and we play third.

Sagittarius B-Day Bash

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

We will be triumphantly returning to the Red Line Tap on November 30th. It should be a lot of fun. It is Erik’s birthday celebration and we will be playing with our friends in Yarn, as well as Hot Heels Records. It promises to be pretty ridiculous. We have new songs, some great covers and a new ridiculous guitar. As usual it starts at 9 and is at 7000 N. Glenwood. See you there……….

Reggie’s Bar (FREE!)

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

We’re playing at the brand new Reggie’s Bar in the South Loop on Friday, October 26. It’s a new venue located at 2105 S. State Street. It’s a free show and Reggie’s is two blocks from the Chinatown Red Line Stop.

In addition to hosting live music, Reggie’s also has a record store onsite. This combination of live and recorded music prompts extremely reputable publications like MetroMix to dub it a “music mecca.

Also on the bill are the Oil Can Boys and Libyan Hit Squad.

(n.b. we are playing in the “music joint” portion of Reggie’s. It’s the smaller of their two venues. If you get there and find yourself in a large room with a burly gentleman asking for a cover charge, go one door north.)

Red Line Tap (w/ Roundeye and Magnafux)

Friday, September 14th, 2007

We’re playing at the Red Line Tap on Saturday, September 29.

Also on the bill are Roundeye and Magnafux.

We’ll have new songs. Brian will have new tattoos. The bar will have $2.50 Goose Island pints.

Festivities will get underway around 9:00. We’ll play around 10:00.

As previous posts have mentioned and this one will reiterate, the Red Line Tap is at 7006 N. Glenwood in Rogers Park. It’s right by the Morse El stop.

Exciting new design

What’s up chickens.

Just testing out some new stuff for the site.

Don’t mind me.

The Mutiny

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

We have a show coming up at the Mutiny on Friday, August 17. We’ve known about this for a while so we have nothing but our own carelessness to blame for only informing you now. Luckily, some of you are subscribed to our RSS feed and will find out immediately.

As with all shows at the Mutiny, this one will be free and there will be large steins of beer available for purchase at remarkably modest prices.

We don’t know a lot about the other bands on the bill. One of them will be The Whore Moans. They’re coming all the way from Seattle, so we have reason to believe that they will be very serious about delivering some rock.

Things will probably get underway around 9:00. The Mutiny is located at 2428 N. Western Avenue, just north of Fullerton.

Add them to your collection

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

We recently received some pictures that the frequently fabulous Di Kulka took of us at Ronny’s.

There are forty-nine of them. They are located here. My favorite is the tenth from the bottom.

The Note w/ Hinter and Kemman

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

We’ve just been added to a show at the Note (1565 N. Milwaukee, in Wicker Park) this Thursday, July 12, at 9:00. We’ll be playing with the bands Hinter and Kemman. Short notice, we realize, but stop on by if you can. One or more of us will give you a big hug.

Hay Perro on WLUW

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

Hay Perro will be on WLUW (88.7 FM in Chicago) on Saturday, July 7 at 2 AM (which, let’s be honest, is really Friday night for all intents and purposes.) We’ll be on the air with DJ Barb Wire. We’re sure to play several HP recordings (but probably not Come on Comrade, as that song contains the dreaded F-word, which the FCC wisely prohibits, because even at 2 AM the chance exists that an impressionable youth might turn on their Fisher-Price radio, hear that awful utterance, and thence be consigned to the path of sin, indecency, and moral relativism, and might even end up being a vegan or something.)

The banter will be unparalleled.

So when closing time’s approaching and the naked lady photo hunt game just doesn’t hold your interest anymore, tune into WLUW and let Hay Perro take the edge off.

Red Line Tap w/ I Love Rich, 1/2 Mad Poet, Scenic Route

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

Our next show is on July 28 at the Red Line Tap right here in Rogers Park. We will be joined by I Love Rich, 1/2 Mad Poet, and Scenic Route.

The Red Line Tap is at 7006 N. Glenwood. Cover is $5. Show begins at 9:00. We play second.

This is a very efficient post.
